In 1962, she decided to try another new adventure. She moved to San Francisco, California, USA. Her original intention was to stay for one year but life had other plans. In San Francisco she met her husband Nick Millard. Together they made films. In fact, Nick named his film company - IRMI Films - after Irmgard.
